A Little Sick . . .

Dear family and friends!!

Well, this past week was a bit slower for us.  Monday night we were able to teach Timea and Mark, two of our newer people who are progressing slowly but surely.  After that we went home and then finished planning Zone Conference.

Tuesday was Zone Conference! We focused a lot on working with members.

Wednesday we went to Székesfehérvár on splits!  I learned from Elder Harris; we focused on working with members and the Standards of Excellence.  We were able to teach a Plan of Salvation lesson to a less-active and go tracting later in the night.  We didn't have a lot of success, though we did find a few potentials.

Thursday was district meeting and after that we headed back to Dunaújváros for a lesson with a new person.  She ended up going to the hospital and wasn't able to meet, so we hopped on a bus to visit a few members in a village.  We almost got a referral from them, someone that they're working on and hopefully in a few weeks we should be able to teach them!  After that they drove us to the branch house, where we were able to sit in on the BRANCH PRESIDENT MEETING and pretty much get down to the nitty-gritty about everything we want to get the branch to do (i.e. callings for recent converts, temple recommends, etc.) and they accepted all of it!  We were super pumped.  We're going places with this branch.

Friday after weekly planning we went to meet with 2 separate investigators who both ended up canceling but we got some good streeting in.  After we went to a member's house as part of ministering.  We're working on just staying for an hour, max.  Sometimes its hard, especially when they want to air all their grievances, but we're going to start telling them what time we have to leave at the beginning of the meeting, not when it hits.  After we went and taught our recent-convert, Szandra, age 15, who started highlighting verses in her scriptures!  She's progressing well.

Friday night I went to bed with a bad stomach ache and ended up throwing up 6 times that night and had a fever for the next 2 days.  Saturday and Sunday I was too sick to leave the apartment, but Elder McCann and I got some good area book work done!  We had 6 but I think we've narrowed them down to 3 and called probably like 70 people.  It's really hard to be sick as a missionary, but sometimes you just got to accept the Lord's will.

Thanks for everything and for the love and support!!
Martin elder
