Softening Hungarian Hearts
Sziasztooookkk!!!!
So this past week was a great one, we taught a lot. We were able to meet with Szandra and Eszter twice (Eszter is Szandra's recent convert grandma), and we rescheduled Szandra's baptism for the 30th because the ward will be in Germany on a Temple Trip on the 23rd. Láter that week we meet with a really cool family, the Hosszú's! They had a piano in their house and Elder Ballard and I were able to play a bit on it for them. That was the first time I had ever been in a member's/investigator's house who had a piano! It's pretty rare here. We were talking about eternal families, how the whole reason behind God sending His Son to the earth and restoring His gospel in the latter-days was so that families can be together forever, and the Mom of the family kept getting chills and would kind of shiver in a good way. She was totally feeling the Spirit and it was amazing to see! When we asked them to read from and pray about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, she was like "YES!" haha they are so solid.
Earlier that day we helped some older women pick cherries from their trees while we were tracting, and when we finished and brought the bucket of cherries to one of the woman's house, it was the same house we had passed earlier that has written on the gate "we're not buying anything, we're not selling anything, we're not converting to any other religions, and even the dog knows this!" They had a loud dog haha. But after we helped her she was really appreciative and was willing to have us come back and help them some more! Service can really open people's hearts to receive the Gospel.
We went on Splits with the Tatabánya elders and I was with Elder Thomsen (we've kind of been following each other through out our missions and we end up going on splits a ton). We found this new woman to whom we taught the Restoration in a park while her dogs ran around us and wrestled each other haha. On Friday we had MLC and we will be focusing in Zone Conferences on how we can better work with local leaders of the church and how to get the members pumped about MINISTERING!!! Can i just say that I am so excited to go home and start ministering! I love the flexibility the new program gives, and the opportunity it gives to be a blessing in someone else's life, and not confining it to a monthly visit. On Saturday and SUnday we spent a lot of time planning for our Zone Conference, though On Friday we did talk to this woman on the train who after we got off led us to feed these wild cats with her... hmm!! We got her number too so hopefully she'll be excited to meet.
Well, love you all and love the Gospel! I love the Book of Mormon and love the opportunity each new day gives to become better and more like our Savior. I love Him and am so grateful for the ministering He does daily in MY life.
