June is upon us!

Hello everyone!

The last few weeks have been wonderful.  The weather nows-a-days is hot and sunny.  Hungarians are really strange when it comes to temperature.  If it's about 68*F outside they will tell you to put on a coat in case you get a cold.  If it's about 70*F, they will tell you that it is too warm and that you have to stay inside.  Very interesting...
Dárdai Ilona, one of our investigators who is going to be baptized in June, dropped a bomb on us.  Her name isn't Dárdai Ilona, but rather Waseczki Ilona... Our investigators are always changing names on us, and they never correct us when we call them the wrong name, sometimes for months at a time! o_o.

Tracting is always a fascinating experience.  There have been some periods on my mission so far that we can pretty easily find people to teach through shorter tracting sessions.  There have been others where we tract for weeks at a time and no one is interested.  However, I've found that when we are the most desperate, the most anxious to find someone to teach, usually we end up finding a solid potential investigator or someone even lets us in to listen to the message of the Restoration.

I was reading in Alma the other day, and I found a verse that explained an aspect of Alma's character that I really want to begin to emulate.  This is when Alma is cast out of Ammonihah, and he starts journeying to a different land in order to teach. Alma 8:14: "And it came to pass that while he was journeying thither, being weighed down with sorrow, wading through much tribulation and anguish of soul, because of the wickedness of the people who were in the city of Ammonihah, it came to pass while Alma was thus weighed down with sorrow, behold an angel of the Lord appeared unto him, saying:

Blessed art thou, Alma, therefore, lift up thy head and rejoice, for thou hast great cause to rejoice;..."  Many times people can be really rude or dismissive and it can put you on an emotional rollercoaster from house to house if you let it affect you, but I love how Alma sorrows not for himself, but instead for the people who missed the opportunity to hear his wonderful message.  It seems natural that a missionary should be totally concerned with others, and not with his or herself; always rejoicing for those who accepted the message, always sorrowing for those who didn't.  Sometimes it's a little difficult to zoom out and talk the focus off of you, but this verse was a nice wake up call for me. I am here for others, because I love Christ, I believe in the redemptive, exalting power of His atonement, and I wouldn't want anything save to share this message with my fellow children of God on this earth, who are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it.
