Light the World

Hello friends and family!
Well this past week was a bit slower, a lot of people didn't show up to their appointments.  We worked hard and we did have a few developments.  János Attila is going to be baptised on the 30th!  His baptismal interview is this Friday, and we saw him this morning while shopping and he said "I'm going to take my test!  I just need to get a cup of coffee and then I'll be ready."  WHAAA- I launched into this big reminder about the Word of Wisdom but then it turned out he was joking ... not very funny. lol.  Also apparently Hungarian hospitals are not very chill with you just showing up and asking to sing to the sick residents.  On Tuesday we went on splits with the Zone Leaders from Szeged, and Garrett elder and I went to a mikulás (santa) party at church (because in Hungary, Santa comes on the 5th of december and he comes in the evening in real form.)

We have been focussing a lot on #LightTheWorld,  #légyavilágvilágossága in Hungarian which 1: is a mouthful (9 syllables) and 2: means "be (you. singular) the light of the world" so our task is not just lighting the world one person at a time, but rather, being the entire light of the world yourself, which is only slightly daunting haha.  we are focusing on doing every day's challenge.  Finding was just a bit slower this week, no new people want to met with us as of now, but we have a lot of appointments scheduled for next week.  I've also transferred over completely to personal study in Hungarian, which I learned from the zone leaders.  1, it helps me focus better and 2. for some reason the spirit is always really strong when i read the book of mormon in hungarian.  though i am approaching the isaiah chapters in 2 nephi and sometimes the vocab is a bit.. well.. pretty much nonexistant these days.  Probably the biggest miracle is János Attila, who is learning to completely rely on the Lord and it's so wonderful to see someone turning their life over to Him.

Something that we do as a mission is the self reliance program.  I will have finished it by next week.  This week we learned about Integrity, which Im learning is pretty much at the basis of everything we do (except maybe faith hope and charity? i don't know, there are a lot of fundamental important things in the gospel).  because if we don't have integrity in temporal or spiritual matters, not only is it hard for others and the Lord to trust us, but for us to trust ourselves.  I feel like integrity and doing the right will cancel out fear every time.

anyway, I love you all and hope you have the most amazing week and that you can remember to focus on others during this Christmas season!!!!! #légyavilágvilágossága
Sok szeretettel,
