Dear families and friends,
Another week of CRAZY adventures and stories. It started out with an awesome P-Day, in which we climbed yet again Kecskemét's only elevated slice of earth: THE DOMB. It was very beautiful, a great view of all the fall colors. We went with Brigi and Peti, two youth from the ward, and Benedek too, a recent convert. That was great fun. As winter is approaching, it starts to get dark around 4:30 now, which is how I remember the days when I first came to the country almost a year ago WEIRD. The weather is transporting me back to Nyíregyháza, first transfer. All the smells, lights, sounds EVERYTHING.
Well it was a week of highs and lows. We tracted in two small villages surrounding Kecskemét (with terrifyingly long names that betray their size) Nagykőrös and Hetényegyháza. That was really great because we found a lot of potential investigators who want us to come back, and that gives us excuses to take little adventures to the villages to shake things up during our week. All the people we found were found through our backup plans of tracting becuase other lessons didn't go through. So people cancel on us, we go tract, and find more people to set up with, we go back, they cancel, we go tract, find more people to set up with, etc. It's wonderful to see the Lord preparing people for us to meet, even if at first you might ask Him, "Why didn't you let this plan go through?" Missionary work is a wonderful lesson on perspective, and the wonderful thing is that when you expereince this pattern, you start expecting miracles from the Lord and you don't even get stressed when the plan falls through in the first place, because you know and believe that He's going to make it up to you.
Probably the worst part of the week was when President Szabadkai came down from Budapest to give one of our investigators a baptismal interview and our investigator didn't show up. Seriously a big dissapointment. But our other János Attila (who will be baptised in January) is progressing wonderfully. Tardi Anna (super nice member) gave us Madár Tej (bird's milk) which is one of my FAVORITE hungarian desserts. We also went to Budapest on Sunday to go to Stake Conference, which was really awesome for our recent converts, Enikő and Benedek. We also got to reunite with friends from Kispest and other missionaries serving in the stake boundaries. Elder Morgan took a little tumble on his bike so we went to the hospital to check out his wrist. Nothing is broken, but we are being careful with it.
Not a lot else happened, but buy and large in was a great week!
Love you all TONS!!!!
