NYÍREGYHÁZA ROUND 2
Sziasztok mindenki!
I'm staying in Nyíregyháza!!! (near-edge-haaz-ah)This past week was the last one of the transfer. Tomorrow we will be going to Budapest to drop off my trainer, Stringham Elder who is heading for Veszprém, and I will get my new companion and head back to this beloved city. We had splits this week; we went up to Miskolc, where the Zone Leaders live. Miskolc is a pretty city, but the part we were in is chock full of communist ten-story buildings.
Highlights this week include the Farsang (far-shahng) party (the Hungarian's equivalent of Halloween) at which there was a fun talent show, a costume contest, and karaoke at the end. I'm super excited to stay here. The members are amazing and getting more excited about the work.
Sorry the email is pretty short this week. Here's a scripture to ponder: 2 Corinthians 4:8-11:
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
I've been trying to read more scriptures about the sacrament in preparation for it, and this one came up. I have personally felt the quickening power of the atonement, manifested to me by the Holy Ghost. Thank you for all of your continual prayers!
